2 Peter - Making our Calling and Election Sure

Sunday, July 21, 2024—We are continuing our study of 2 Peter. Today’s message is titled “Making our Calling and Election Sure.” Peter continues to discuss the importance of every person “making every effort” to grow in the 7 major characteristics of God in order to protect us from becoming unproductive and ineffective in the Kingdom, and most importantly, to be welcomed by God into His eternal Heavenly Kingdom. To do this, we must “abide” in Christ. Read John 15 and study what it means to abide in Christ. Then, ask yourself some questions to see if you are abiding in Him or if you are at risk of detaching yourself from the vine. As we follow through on our walk with Christ, we are making our “calling and election” sure, and in doing so, we are building a solid and strong foundation that will help us persevere to the end with patient obedience.
