Welcome to episode 11, where we cover the much anticipated reboot that is the Rob Zombie directed movie The Munsters.
This movie tells the story of the infamous monster family's move from Transylvania to Hollywood. It stars many of Rob Zombie's usual cast, including Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman, Daniel Roebuck as The Count, Richard Brake as Dr. Wolfgang, and, of course, Sherri Moon Zombie stars as Lily.
Greg does not like Rob Zombie movies, but Mari does. Mari has never seen an episode of The Munsters TV show, but Greg has seen them all. Greg was ready to hate this movie, but Mari was cautiously optimistic. We were both pleasantly surprised, although Greg has many gripes, mostly about Sherri's performance as Lily. Why does she gesture like that? Why does she maintain the quiver in her voice throughout the whole movie? Why does Lily suddenly have zapping powers? Although Greg has his complaints, we both agree Herman and The Count are the best part of the movie. Greg is impressed with the many easter eggs for the fans. Mari can't get enough of Herman's dad jokes, so much so that she won't repeat them because she doesn't want to spoil them! We don't hate this movie, but we do concede how some may. And we both love how it looks! Listen as Greg admits, reluctantly, that he actually likes one Rob Zombie movie.
