It’s easy to lose track that behind the blockchain exists human beings. This episode is about one such person, a man who was both friend and family member, businessman and taxpayer. Let’s call this man “Greg.” He had an early interest in investments, precious metals, stocks, etc. Needless to say this mild-mannered gentleman got addicted to crypto currencies and his life was never the same.
In episode 38 of the Crypto for Newborns podcast, hear Greg’s story …
While we’re having a little fun with crypto “addiction,” we take real addiction seriously. For individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders, SAMHSA’s National Helpline, 1-800-662-HELP (4357) (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service) or TTY: 1-800-487-4889 is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. Callers can also order free publications and other information.
If you or someone you know has a gambling addiction, The National Council on Problem Gambling operates the National Problem Gambling Helpline Network (1-800-522-4700). The network is a single national access point to local resources for those seeking help for a gambling problem. The network consists of 28 call centers which provide resources and referrals for all 50 states, Canada and the US Virgin Islands. Help is available 24/7 and is 100% confidential.
