Conceived on a Himalayan mountain top and brought up on the beaches and cliff tops of Cornwall in the south west of England, in her own words, Satya Lapham can normally be found flying through the air on a trapeze or dangling off a rope from a cliff.
She is the founder and artistic director of the highly innovative and modern circus theatre company, Incandescence, which has been producing and touring circus productions in over 60 different countries and has worked with celebrities such as Beyonce and Robbie Williams.
Satya’s early life was a stark contrast to the glitz and glamour of her shows.
Her circus skill and her powerful imagination can certainly be traced back to the wild and natural environment of Cornwall. However, it was the choice that her parents made in her early age that has ultimately shaped her as a person.
It was not an obvious choice that most parents would make.
I hope Satya's story will provide a powerful inspiration for the young people and their parents who are chasing dreams in life, regardless of what background you are from.
