Dept. of Education cuts could spell trouble for UT's older student loan borrowers Policy analysts have been sounding the alarm about the Department of Education's ability to reach and engage with low-income, disadvantaged and older student loan borrowers in Utah and around the country. With massive layoffs at the agency and the sunsetting of the Biden administration's income-driven repayment plan, those efforts will only get harder.
