SST Return of Rocco Del Priore, New Head Coach of Monsignor Farrell Football

Host Peter Kennedy welcomes the return of former Subway Sports Talk co-host Rocco Del Priore, now as the new head coach of Monsignor Farrell High School Football. Roc hosted SST every week during the 2020-21 season discussing the NFL and more - but with the return of High School Football in 2021-22 Coach Del had bigger fish to fry. Roc helped lead his team, as the Defensive Coordinator of the Lions, to a NYCHSFL Championship appearance. In recent weeks he has now been named the 6th head coach in the programs 58 year history. Looking to strengthen the legacy, Rocco embarks on an exciting task to further this program another step up. But first, we had to discuss some NFL Championship football with Joe Burrow and Staten Island's own Defensive Coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals Lou Anarumo, who has close ties to Rocco and the Farrell program. Roc talks about what he's done as DC of the Bengals and what he has learned from him. Also, what Joe Burrow has been able to accomplish and how he is on the brink of history heading into the Super Bowl. We move on to discuss Coach Del's coaching philosophy, what he has in store for the Lions, and how the game of football has changed so much over time. After coaching for 15 year leading to this moment, what does he look to instill in this program and what players are poised for big seasons. Rocco gives his advice to younger coaches and stresses the importance of learning and never doubting yourself.
