Kim Bryden is the Founder and CEO of Cureate in Washington, DC! They exists to shift the dollar back into our local communities by building an empowered food and beverage supply to meet a changing consumer demand. They do that by advising and counseling food and and beverage businesses, offering Cureate courses, and working with large institutions (universities, convention centers, and others) purchasing team to shift their funds to the purchasing of small and local food business goods, essentially demand and supply matchmaking or cureating the connection! Kim was born and raised in rural farmland New Jersey and was always artsy and creative, she loved catching the train and going into the New York City to jazz clubs. She went off to college and attended American University here in DC and has not left since, that was 16 years ago. After graduation she worked at a DC agency and that was her first time being exposed to the food industry which led to being hired by Whole Foods to oversee their marketing and business development. Afterwards, she worked with several food tech companies and loved working with local food businesses until she decided it was time to open her own business 8 years ago and Cureate was born! A pivotal moment for Cureate was when Kim decided to drive across the country and met with many great and interesting people, and found a need to open a second hub for Cureate Courses and Cureate Connect in Arkansas due to the demand in the area. Cureate and Baltimore Community Lending (BCL) are launching 4 cohorts in the state of Maryland where they will be taught how to grow their business and have the opportunity to win cash grants. There is going to be 10 businesses per cohort, a total of 40 businesses for the next 10 months or so. Apply here!
