He's considered the Jimmy Hendrix of bassists, according to his peers, including Sting, Flea, Robert Trujillo, and Geddy Lee, just to name a few. He's recorded with Pat Metheny and Joni Mitchell, and served as the primary electric bass player for the band Weather Report after recording this album through 1981.
