Regardless of our level of responsibility, corrections officers are leaders. As we move up in the “chain of command”, part of our responsibility is to “inspire” those we are leading to follow us. There is a great deal out there about cultural factors, educational factors, personality factors, etc., but how much do we consider generational factors? Research shows that this is a major factor, and one that is often ignored. Warden Dawson and special guest Barbara Gould begin a discussion about working with different generations and considering what each generation values.
