“I used to be the largest dairy consumer on the planet. I used to eat so much dairy and meat. The more that I looked into the dairy industry, the more that I saw that it was the singular, most inhumane industry on the planet, that we've all been lied to, including myself, for years. I always believed that the picture on the milk carton, the cow standing next to her calf in the green field with the red barn in the back was true. It’s certainly the complete opposite.” – Richard (Kudo) Couto Richard (Kudo) Couto is the founder of Animal Recovery Mission (ARM), an organization solely dedicated to investigating extreme animal cruelty cases. ARM has led high-risk undercover operations that have resulted in the shutdown of illegal slaughterhouses, animal fighting rings, and horse meat trafficking networks. Recently, they released a damning investigation into two industrial dairy farms outside of Phoenix, Arizona supplying milk to Coca-Cola’s Fairlife brand. What they uncovered was systemic animal abuse, environmental violations, and a devastating betrayal of consumer trust. While Fairlife markets its products as being sourced "humanely," ARM’s footage tells a very different story—one of suffering, abuse, and corporate complicity. Despite the evidence, this story has been largely ignored by mainstream media—likely due to Coca-Cola’s massive influence and advertising dollars.…

Welcome to a new episode of the Esk Podcasts. With the Friedkin's effecting change across the senior levels of the club both on and off the pitch, it was no surprise that they looked for, and successfully appointed a brand new CEO. That person is Angus Kinnear, now former CEO at Leeds United where he spent eight years, initially addressing many of the problems all to familiar with Everton fans, inconsistent ownership and poor financial management. Despite that and elsewhere, Angus has proven himself to be a shrewd operator, an excellent driver of commercial growth, and above all else, a person of integrity and good governance. Sit back and listen to BBC Leeds' Adam Pope as he gives his insight to the eight years Angus spent at Leeds United. As many will know Adam is a fanatic toffee and has a real knowledge of football as well as a passion for us Blues. Thank you Adam for your time and contribution. Hosted on Acast. Welcome to a slightly different podcast from me, Paul Quinn. Whilst normally I cover Everton Football Club, today I venture into the world of Lancashire Country Cricket Club with Alan Higham. Alan will be known to many cricket fans and cricket journalists as an ardent Lancastrian and follower of the England men's team. Having watched cricket in 50 or so test match grounds his experience and commitment is huge. In this episode we look at governance in cricket and particularly Lancashire County Cricket and it may be no surprise to find very similar issues to those we face in football. Thanks for listening and your feedback is most welcome. A transcript will follow in due course. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

I get together with Matt Slater of the Athletic to chat with Bart Huby of LCP Actuaries whose football analytics division has produced a recent report on football finances entitled "Bigger, better but also riskier". The report can be found on the link below. We have a really passionate discussion, primarily focused on the findings of Bart's and LCP's insightful report on football finances but looked through the eyes of two passionate supporters of lower league clubs, Bart as a Tranmere Rovers fan and Matt as a long suffering, but hopefully more optimistic Southend United fan seeing better times ahead. We look at the attractions of lower league football from a fan and owner perspective. Additionally we look at the financial relationship between the Premier League, the EFL and lower leagues. With Everton's takeover issues current we look at the market for football clubs, valuations and governance, Thanks for listening, and thanks for the expertise and passion both Bart and Matt bring to the subject. We hope you enjoy it! A full transcript of the podcast is available here Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

Welcome to this special edition of Everton Business Matters where for the first time since May 2021 Rodger Armstrong , John Blain and I get together to discuss the last seven years, right up to the potential new investment doing the current media rounds. In our usual style we analyse what's happened, where it has placed us and most critically how do we get out of the deeply uncompetitive position we found ourselves in. As ever strong opinions, some disagreement and Rodger's eloquent summary. Thanks for listening Rodger, John & Paul Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

Today's podcast sees me catch up with a fellow Blue, Mike Gow , who is an expert in China, having worked there for 15 years and is a leading academic on industry, management and even football in China. Mike takes us through the current thinking regarding football in China, the long term thinking leading to eventually hosting a World Cup. The link to Everton might be John Thornton, the potential bidder. Mike discusses John's interests in China before covering his theory which set a small corner of Twitter alight last evening. Finally Mike talks about a very interesting research programme involving Everton social media and the potential for providing a one stop solution for Evertonians to access all future Everton related content. Thanks Mike, and I hope the listeners find your conversation very interesting! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
