Brenden Schaeffer discusses the St. Louis Cardinals pulling off a thrilling win in Philadelphia Monday night, 3-2 over the Phillies to extend their winning streak to nine games! The hottest team in baseball just did it in dramatic fashion, on the road, and this time it came against a legitimate contending opponent. We dive into all the moments that mattered from this game, including key swings from Ivan Herrera and Masyn Winn, as well as some important defensive plays that didn't necessarily go the Cardinals' way. We recap Matthew Liberatore's outing and make a (bold?) proclamation regarding his standing in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Plus, a bullpen that has been absolutely nails during this streak was at its best Monday, with Kyle Leahy and JoJo Romero setting the table for a vintage version of Ryan Helsley in the ninth (with a little help from Jordan Walker defensively). Brenden Schaeffer discusses the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1 win over the Nationals on Sunday, Mother's Day, as the Redbirds keep things rolling by sweeping the Nats and winning their eighth straight game! Miles Mikolas once again did all you could ask for, even if he felt like he could see his game extended beyond the 69 pitches that he threw, we explain why it was certainly the right choice by Oliver Marmol to turn to Steven Matz for what ended up being the biggest leverage spot in the game. The Cardinals offense got some early power swings off against MacKenzie Gore with Nootbaar and Contreras both launching their sixth home runs of the season. It was even more impressive, though, the way the Cards kept at it against Gore and chased him from the game with a key insurance rally in the seventh inning. Nolan Arenado tacked on a two-run homer of his own in the eighth to allow the Cards to comfortably complete the sweep! Now, a big series in Philadelphia looms as the Cardinals send their top arms to the mound against the Phillies. Would a series win get the fans to totally buy back into what we're seeing? Sound off in the comments! Follow this podcast feed for daily Cardinals coverage all year round!…

Brenden Schaeffer discusses the St. Louis Cardinals 4-2 win over the Nationals on Saturday as Andre Pallante became the latest Cardinals starter to pitch an absolute gem. Were we surprised to see him stay in the game for the eighth inning considering the rested nature of the bullpen? Perhaps, but it's also fair to say there weren't really any obvious signs of him slowing down prior to the Dylan Crews homer. At that point, it was up to JoJo Romero and Ryan Helsley, the latter of whom had an adventurous ninth inning after some questionable pitch sequencing seemed to throw him off his game in the Josh Bell at-bat. All's well that ends well for the Cards as they've now won 7 in a row. Can Miles Mikolas keep it going against a big-time strikeout pitcher on the other side Sunday? Brenden Schaeffer discusses the St. Louis Cardinals 10-0 win over the Nationals on Friday night as Erick Fedde was masterful in a complete game shutout, the first of his MLB career! And it happened in the place that he was drafted all those years ago. More on Fedde's outing and his outlook, as well as the Cardinals lineup falling into form. Ivan Herrera is back and he contributed to a big game offensively for the Redbirds, who took their walks and hit their way in timely fashion to a 10-run output without the benefit of a single home run. How are we viewing this Cardinals club as they creep up on the Cubbies? Sound off in the comments! Follow this podcast feed for Cardinals coverage all year long!…

Brenden Schaeffer discusses the St. Louis Cardinals optioning Luken Baker to Triple-A Memphis ahead of the weekend series in Washington D.C. Does this mean van Herrera is returning? And is it a bad thing that the Cardinals now have so many catchers on the active roster? Plus, on their day off, the Cardinals elected a new pope, who, despite erroneous reporting earlier in the day Thursday, is NOT a Cubs fan--and we can prove it! Brenden Schaeffer discusses the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1 win over the Pirates on Tuesday at Busch Stadium as Matthew Liberatore outdueled Paul Skenes, who has to be about plumb tired of facing the Cardinals at this point. He still hasn't beaten this St. Louis team and it was Liberatore's brilliance combined with Alec Burleson's timely hitting against Skenes that made the difference on Tuesday. Plus, did Gordon Graceffo just show us that he's a closer in the making at the MLB level? Follow this podcast feed for St. Louis Cardinals coverage all year!…

Brenden Schaeffer discusses the St. Louis Cardinals 6-3 win over the Pirates on Monday at Busch Stadium as Miles Mikolas got the team through five innings and the power supply came from Alec Burleson, Willson Contreras and Jose Barrero! Brenden Schaeffer discusses the unbelievable St. Louis Cardinals doubleheader sweep of the Mets on Sunday at Busch Stadium as Michael McGreevy put the team on his back in Game 2. Victor Scott II made one of the best catches you'll ever see to rob a home run from Juan Soto. Erick Fedde and Andre Pallante walked way too many guys. Will the Cardinals look more closely at their rotation spots with clear candidates for promotions into the starting five, or will it be business as usual? It was a potentially season-shifting day at Busch, so we'll talk about the implications as the Cards pull to within three games of .500 out of nowhere. Brenden Schaeffer discusses the mounting St. Louis Cardinals losing streak in games against the New York Mets, dating back to last season as Sonny Gray got hit around by a Mets lineup that piled up 17 hits in a 9-3 beatdown on the Cards on Friday at Busch. Willson Contreras has largely been very steady at 1B defensively during this transition, but his biggest blunder came in a key spot on Friday night. Plus, the Blues beat the Jets at Enterprise Center to force a Game 7 on Sunday night in Winnipeg! Follow this podcast feed for Cardinals coverage, every day, all year long!…

Brenden Schaeffer discusses a rain-soaked loss for the St. Louis Cardinals in Cincinnati on Thursday as the rain delay knocked Matthew Liberatore from his start prematurely and apparently took any chances the Cardinals had in the game with him. Are we concerned about the offense after being completely stymied by the Reds bullpen again? Or is this one to plain wash away and forget it ever happened? Plus, we preview the weekend ahead as the Cards will do battle with the Mets at Busch Stadium. Follow this podcast feed for Cardinals coverage all year long!…

Brenden Schaeffer provides the comprehensive breakdown of the St. Louis Cardinals thrilling doubleheader sweep of the Reds on Wednesday in Cincy as Miles Mikolas got his first win of the season with the Cards bats finally waking up. Masyn Winn has a two-homer game and caps a back-to-back-to-back sequence in the ninth inning of Game 1. Victor Scott and Lars Nootbaar bring their lumber, too. Oliver Marmol got ejected in a stylish way! Gordon Graceffo was pumping 99-mph heat and covering five innings behind Steven Matz in the nightcap, allowing the Cardinals bullpen (which has suddenly been really good lately) to save bullets for the rest of the week. Willson Contreras and Jordan Walker helped build up a nine-run cushion in that second game. Great stuff all around by the Cardinals on Wednesday. Follow this podcast feed for more Cardinals coverage all year long!…

Andy Humphrey and Brenden Schaeffer discuss Oli Marmol telling the Gashouse Gang show on KMOX Tuesday that "there's nothing to point at from a preparation standpoint or a from a player standpoint where there's something indicating why we should not have success on the road." Marmol sees the Cards' 2-12 road record as a blip on the radar that doesn't have a concrete answer and he expects it will be something that levels out over the course of the season. With the rainout Tuesday, the guys discuss Cardinals topics looking into the rest of the Cincy series (understanding that we later learned of Tuesday's postponement after recording). Tune into The Big Show on the KTGR app from 4-6 weekdays for more Cardinals talk!…
