×This week opens with a waitress at Chili's (yes you heard right) who was a complete Debbie Downer and got fired in the middle of serving us. HELLO!! Classic. Also, the two brits that saved Christmas (or what we call Russ Meneve's birthday party) thanks to Nick Griffin, who will be replaced by a new younger model. ALL will be explained in this exciting episode of Juskow in the City - 2025 Tax Edition. 😉 Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
This week on the podcast my mother is 20 minutes late to my lecture on how horrible a mother she is, but granted it went on for about four hours so she just missed years 3-7. Then, it's tough parking in NYC so my new parking garage will become the worst place to park come Christmas as it is directly across from the Rockefeller Center Xmas Tree. AND, a big night out on Tuesday that cost about $1,000. It's not that normal, BUT, it's what you get sometimes being Juskow in the CITY (New York City that is!) Oy. Also, our friend Vincent lets us know that Paul McCartney is extremely cheap and lots of John Waite talk. Now seriously, where do you find another podcast like this? Yeah, you can say it. . . . NOWHERE! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
This week on Juskow in the City alot of time spent in the East Village of New York, which I don't normally spend time in BUT, 2 outstanding times with just minor annoyances - especially rain since I wanted to break in my waterproof backpack - except I forgot to get a waterproof jacket. Also a Mark Normand documentary opening that was quite interesting and my mother's next door neighbor of 20 years has no idea who my mother is since she's moved 5 years ago. Oh, and don't worry, it's not dementia or anything, my mother's just not memorable. So classic. And, of course, the yearly trek to Staten Island. Oy. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
This week after making the right choice to see a Broadway star friend in a play, it turns out to be an embarrassing wrong choice. Also, take your half marathons and shove 'em! And still, apparently my 30 year old backpack isn't waterproof, the 40 year old movie "Labyrinth" and the 50 year old friend's game show he invented and still doesn't know the rules. Hilarious! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
Today on the show I get to meet the greatest soap opera star of all time Susan Lucci. Then, it's a big fund raiser for the next Mayor of New York City (who wouldn't come out from behind a bush). And finally, a trip on Amtrak to Albany (the smelliest place on earth - that includes Amtrak) to appear in a movie that I can only hope finishes filming with me in Key West. Oy. All and all one heck of a week in Juskow in the City land. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
For a show called Juskow in the City (being New York City) we certainly do spend an awful lot of time in New Jersey, well this week, for some reason, it's all about Connecticut. I was there twice this week and I must say, it was some pretty sweet magic. First stop, Greenwich - where the old producer of the David Letterman show has a yearly Ice Hockey shin dig that was kind of incredible. Then New Haven, the home of Yale University, where I shot a movie with Mr. Sam Morril and then opened for him at a concert venue for about 800 folks. But don't worry, I had dinner at the Texas Roadhouse in Jersey by the end of the week. Too much CT, am I right? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

The week began innocently enough at Don't Tell Mamas where the tables were turned on your pal Dave Juskow, but then an old army injury flared up again as my back just stopped working I guess. Enter the Acupuncturist. A friend's wife who's obviously nutty with this old mysticism like The Force. BUT, I was desperate so I gave it a try and TRIED extremely hard to concentrate knowing full well, it may not work if you don't give it your all. Unfortunately, an hour before the Acupuncture I found out my garage in Manhattan was closing for good. It's like getting kicked out of your apartment. I dare anyone to feel relaxed after that so. . . .All we be explained on this week's episode. And Gene Hackman, of course. . . a murder mystery. EGGciting. Hosted on Acast. The show before the Oscars. I've been watching all the movies. Anora and The Substance are pretty good HOWEVER, if we're comparing them to The Godfather or Titanic or Forrest Gump -- they stink! You know how angry I get about this - so it's that time of the year. We'll see. And of course watch my companion piece where we make our selections from the Comedy Cellar on YouTube. Otherwise, this week - the big awful showing at the University with all the professors in one room greeting each other, "professor, professor, professor" - like in Spies Like Us, "doctor, doctor, doctor". Epic. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
This pre-valentine's day week crashes and burns as everyone cancels but it all turns out into an interesting weekend. I got to spend time with the Dave Juskow of the last generation (except he's rich). Damnit. I've gotta work on that. Also, Super Bowl Sunday at Elon and his wife's apt. I thought they were having a super bowl party but they only invited me. "Do you want us to order Thai food?" For Super Bowl Sunday? What is happening!?? Uh oh. All will be explained on this week's exciting episode of Juskow in the City. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
"You know, my boyfriend has that same watch." As quoted from the classic Seinfeld. So I've got a story for you today my friends that will amaze and entertain and bring up alot of questions as Valentine's day creeps closer and makes the natives restless. BUT, when there's a shine on your shoes, there's a melody in your heart - and isn't that the most important thing of all. Of course, everything will be explained in its entirety on an all new exciting Juskow in the City! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

On the flip side, the week before I had french fries with 2 hamburgers crushed in so. . . .Score! Also, my university lecture on Desi Arnaz. This week - a desperate call for help to me to bring Sarah Silverman up on stage at the Beacon Theater in NYC for her Netflix taping two hours before the show. Listen this week to find out what happens. Also a double dip of Dave Attell birthday shin digs and an additional birthday with Baba Booey. What a week of comedy, without actually doing any comedy. You've gotta respect it. It's Juskow in the City! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
Since I invented the 6:00 p.m. show at the Comedy Cellar, it was only natural to tell Sarah Silverman she should practice her Netflix special there in front of a live audience. So, the Super Secret Pop Up Show was on the board but none of the audience knew who it was and since I was opening for her, they may as well have said, "before we bring up Bruce Springsteen, the comedy stylings of. . ." oy. But, classic and you can hear all about that and my nutty friend who wanted to cruise around Newark, NJ in the middle of the night and a night performing at the classic NYC Cabaret Club, Don't Tell Mama's in Times Square. What a show this week! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
This week we go back once again to Christmas and New Year's and then we'll be all caught up. Yes, Christmas at Rachel Feinstein's - a hilarious sentence. Listen to what happened when I bought the daughter of the New York City Fire Chief a pack of matches as a xmas gift. HIGHlarious! (or was it?). Also, spending multiple nights at my new home in New Jersey - the Jon Bon Jovi Rest Area on the Garden State Parkway; going to the Stone Pony to see my friend play in his band, The Rachets; and the movie Heretic with the legendary Hugh Grant. How was it? I'll let you know as we continue the 2025 Juskow in the City Podcast!! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
Happy New Year everyone and thanks for listening. The 500th Episode of the combined Dave Juskow podcasts - The Spread, The Nightfly and Juskow in the City. For this episode I decided to record it with my other weekly YouTube Show at the Comedy Cellar (Comedy Cellar Tuesdays with Dave Juskow). So joining me on this episode recorded Tuesday December 10, 2024 are Dave Attell, Nick Griffin and Russ Meneve. We really had a great time recording this. Later in the episode I put up pictures of old comedians we either started with or were ahead of us when we first started to see if we could guess their names. It was alot of fun. I think you'll like it too. I couldn't be happier that this one, the 500th episode, is now one of my favorite episodes. That's the way it should be. Thanks so much for being a loyal listener of Juskow in the City. And, please feel free to sign up for my Patreon page if you liked the show. The 499th Episode. But it's just what'd you'd get in a normal Juskow in the City, cause why change genius? Am I right? This week a pigeon flies into my coat while I'm riding the bike (I thought we had a deal!); an awful comedy club xmas party; the student that came to dinner & Wicked! Next week -- the big 500th! Happy Holidays! If you notice the Season and Episodes changed on top it's because I've been using just how long we've been doing the Juskow in the City moniker. Season 10 and 499 is all encompassing Juskow from 2014 when it was called, "The Spread" and later "The Nightfly". Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
This week everything falls apart at the old age home and they tell me never to come back. But it's just one horrible old woman. As it turns out even though all the electronics went out, they seemed to be fascinated with my 45 lecture of how I got into show business - I mean, who wouldn't be? And of course my james mason and ruth gordon imitations. I mean. . . . Then we went out to the Christmas Pop Up bar. Tis the season already. Next week -- "Wicked". Oh boy. Hosted on Acast. Well yes I did go to see the movie Conclave , where people in the theater don't shut up (Who's that guy again?) Ugh. This week Gilbert Gottfried's first comedy album ever was released entitled "Still Screaming". It's an awesome double album and I was part of the launch party along with Chevy Chase and Paul Schaffer. Yeah, you heard right. Unfortunately, I got a sty in my eye and had to wear woman's sunglasses the whole time BUT -- podcast gold, right? Also, I try the Indian food "Dosa" (whatever that is) and although the girl that I went with said this would be her last execution meal, it should not be anyone's last execution meal. The new president was announced last week and it's another four year nightmare for Dave Juskow as my Trump Tower Parking Garage will once again become a logistical nightmare. Sigh. Juskow in the City

The Nightfly is back to do a tiny tribute to the great David Sanborn and some of his influence, especially his work with the great Dave Grusin, Sting, David Bowie and David Juskow (I added my name in to make another David reference - I should see if he worked with Dave Grohl -- although I do have a clip of him on David Letterman - SO. . . we're good). Also, another, if you can believe it, anchovy incident - I mean, it's impossible, right? AND, sending my backpack home in luxury turned out to be a major financial mix-up and toting around turned out to be a pain being in such a small place as well (but it's all hilarious) Hosted on Acast. Juskow in the City

Juskow in the City is thinking of moving to the State of West Virginia - I mean, probably not but did you know it's only 4½ hours away from NYC? I didn't know that. Also, I have dinner with showrunner of One Day at a Time on Netflix, Mike Royce who confesses he told Dave Attell to give up comedy in 1988. You know, cause it just wasn't for him. 😅 And, the Roast of Tom Brady and the new 24/7 channel - all Charles in Charge , all the time. What a show! Hosted on Acast.
