When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Bishop Michael presents this message in Shona and has kindly provided and English translation. TITLE: Dont despise God's Counsel TEXT: Psalms 107 vs 10-12 Good life to you all. On verse 10 here God can let you go deep down in challenges and even see you wallow in affliction. Your safety and liberty is not guaranteed as long as you are 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒆𝒅 with God's purpose. On verse 11 again whoever goes 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒘𝒂𝒚 becomes vulnerable to any form of attack. When you despise the counsel of God the enemy will take advantage of everything about you. The gates of hell will not have restraint in your life. You become exposed to any form of 𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒄 frustration. Abide by the counsel the word of God and it will be well with you. Verse 12. No one will come to your aid whilst you suffer. No eye will show you pity. God's grace, mercies and kindness will 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖. Instead His anger and wrath will be your portion. CONCLUSION: Today the counsel of the lord is your guide to a glorious destiny. Seek it, embrace it and meditate on it day and night. PRAYER: Lord Jesus i come to you this day as my saviour. I pray that the unbreakable bond of God's love that holds me will sustain me through everything that life that life will bring. Let your counsel 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒎𝒆 in love so strong. We are time and resource limited but the show continues and will expand when we can. Your sins knows you and you cannot hide it from God. Not only the police will catch you but even nature will not allow you to escape. Remember no one is too clever before God. Jail and hell are too far away and you can suffer for your sin in your own house. CONCLUSION: The only way to deal with your destiny is by the way of the cross of Jesus the son of God. He died to redeem us from our fallen nature back by paying a blood price. Receive him today as your personal saviour and you will not be under the influence of doing evil works any more. He will light your paths and direct your ways. PRAYER: Lord God i pray that you save me from doing evil works. I do repent from the evil ways and i accept Jesus as my saviour today. Wash me and cleans me from all unrighteousness.
