Taking the Tech Pill with CPUGOD
Andrew Grathwohl, aka CPUGOD, is a musician and software engineer in NYC. I first heard him on Robbie Bernstein’s show talking about the fascistic relationship between big tech and the state. I wanted to dig in on the Qanon psy-op and how the government uses divisive propaganda on both sides of the cultural and political divide to prey on the gullible. But then I found out CPUGOD’s talents and interests go much deeper and broader than all that! He’s created software to provide accompaniment to talented musicians to make pretty chaotic, avant-garde music. There’s a clip of one of his pieces after the interview.
CPUGOD is also extremely optimistic about the future. That refreshing take is entirely powered by software. According to CPUGOD, blockchain and other decentralized technology is going to make the oligarchy essentially irrelevant to anyone who wants it to be. Paired with entrepreneurial activity and investment, these technologies can bring about the freedom we seek without even needing to dissolve the mechanisms of control that others think they need.
