It’s Halloween time and mixed in with all of the witches and ghosts and spooky decorations, a newer mascot of the season has popped up in the last few years and taken control of the holiday. Sam is the driving force behind the movie Trick R Treat and the living embodiment of Halloween. He stalks the night offering a framing for the tales in the movie and enforcing the unwritten rules of the season. With a new theatrical release for 2022, it’s a great time to watch the movie and look at who this little guy is and how he taps into some of the bigger themes of Halloween and horror.
