Every city has it's own set of land use and building codes that have to be followed to a T by anyone taking on a remodeling or building project. What you might not know, is that beyond the safety codes, there are a set of guidelines that most designers and architects in the nation follow. They are called the NKBA Guidelines. Their purpose is less so for safety, but for style and efficiency.
