#150 Thrive or Just Survive
Manage episode 429606633 series 3386451
The weight of trauma is heavy. Even as time moves on after a hard situation--and we may think we've moved on, too--dealing with the damage in the aftermath is crucial to true healing.
PJ Victor encountered Jesus in early childhood, when she experienced continuous abuse at the hands of her mother's drug-dealing clients. While navigating the various obstacles of life, she realized that she had to come to terms with the innate connection between the mind, body and spirit in order to release the trauma and truly move forward in peace and freedom. We can find strength and emotional independence by following the Word, and applying mental and psychological healing tools to become a well-balanced person.
Through leaning into her faith, PJ went into "spontaneous remission" with her autoimmune disease, and has been for over a year. She asserts that mere survival is for people who operate within the limitations of society and man-made solutions. Thriving is for those who understand the freedom and authority we have as Christians, especially to facilitate our own healing journey through the power of the Holy Spirit.
