On today’s episode of The Christ-Driven Woman, Charisse is joined by guest Melissa Harris, a wealth coach and Christian leader who empowers her clients to find their purpose and live abundantly. After being successful in varied careers, Melissa was led to the financial services industry after feeling called to teach clients how to better manage their finances. She came to realize that when people are overwhelmed by the stress of working and making money, they are less able to engage with their families and with their churches, thus neglecting their purpose in Christ. Charisse and Melissa discuss the role of money and business in the life of a Christ-follower and give the following advice:
- We need to make a practice out of praying over our finances and giving the direction over to God, who will teach us how to spend money wisely
- Focusing too much on money, the provision, causes us to lose focus on the Provider
- Just as we can follow a food-related diet, adopting a financial “diet” is a healthy practice that can prevent the obsession of making and/or spending money
- Christian business owners must have an unshakeable faith that can withstand seeds of doubt that try to derail their mission
As Christian business owners, Charisse and Melissa understand the importance of looking to God for direction, and encourage listeners to do the same.
