Monday Morning Drive: How Scalable Companies Address Shortcomings With ALE
Manage episode 440529717 series 3601368
Did you read last week’s blog on ALE, the management diagnostic tool? It’s worth your time, and I don’t say that lightly. I think it’s important enough that I’m following it up with today’s blog on how to put ALE to work.
In my role, I see the same problems over and over again, but with completely different people and companies. Why is that? Obviously, there are aspects of our industry and the people who are attracted to it that kick up the same dust.
In a perfect world, we wouldn’t have any problems because we’d anticipate them, avoid them, and design systems to prevent them.
Yet, every company that uses the dedicated project manager system to develop estimates, plan events, and run crews has the same problem: There’s no one to support sales when there are a lot of shows going on. This leads to poorly designed and quoted events, or worse, gaps in revenue.
We all know this, but the conventional wisdom is that this dynamic can’t be fixed.
I, of course, disagree.
