377. "Train Your People to Act Up" - Anthony Rowett

Anthony Rowett is back on the show and is always bringing some good talking points. Jumping right in on the importance of training, but more importantly, training your people to act up. One of the greatest compliments for any company officers is that their crew performed at the same level whether you were working with them or off for the tour. Setting the expectations up front and working with your crew to know the roles of the next guy will ultimately set your company up for success. A true testament to your mentorship is letting your people soar. With the right foundation, competent officers push their people to be better, to do more and to leave the nest. "Upholding the standard" is a non-negotiable for Anthony. He is dedicated and passionate about the intensity it takes to do this job correctly. His mentors gave him a solid base to build from and he knows that it is his responsibility to pass along the discipline it takes to excel. His commitment to training has lead him to forming the Alabama Firefighters Training Foundation which has recently changed names because of the tremendous success this not for profit has had. Now titled, the National Firefighters Training Foundation, this foundation brings training across the country while keeping costs extremely low or none at all. The mission is to provide top shelf training and exposure to some of the most influential names in the fire service to everyone. Their partnerships have helped them fulfill this mission and the foundation, just like Anthony, is not slowing down anytime soon.
