A nurse works the overnight shift and then drives home to her house on a dead-end dirt road. She calls her mother and husband to let them know she made it home safe, and then crawls into bed to sleep. That would be the last time anyone would hear from her again. When her husband and children arrived home they would find signs of a violent struggle in the house, but Melinda was nowhere to be found. Police suspect foul play immediately and think she was attacked while sleeping and abducted from the home. Investigators looked into multiple serial killers operating within driving distance of her home at the time, including the infamous Baton Rouge Serial Killer - Derrick Todd Lee. But many local people believe the answer is right in their small town and that people out there know what happened to Melinda. Now is the time to come forward.
