Or as John Vervaeke puts it, an upward spiral to counteract the downward spiral our species finds itself in. An orientiation to reality, or way of being that allows we as individuals to engage with the world in a more connected and meaningful way. Instead of perceiving things merely as separate subjects or objects, relationships and interactions define existence:: "As we engage in practices that foster reciprocal opening, we enter into a transformative, dynamic relationship with the world, which creates an upward, spiraling movement of meaning." Vervaeke explains that through this process, individuals and the world co-create each other in a transjective manner. He describes how, instead of being trapped in a subject-object dualism, we move towards anagoge—a cognitive ascent ( "Spiral out! Keep going!" ) that integrates the self and reality into deeper layers of connection and meaning. Thanks for listening!
