Rainbow Blak brings you a very special Fathers Day Episode to discuss, celebrate and basically destroy many of the harmful myths around Black Fathers being absent or poor fathers to their children. She also explores some of the barriers that stop men in general being present for their children or from being the best fathers they can be to their children. These may include situations and circumstances that are beyond their control i.e. Restraining Orders, breakdown in their intimate relationships i.e. separation/divorce or conflict with co-parenting.
Rainbow Blak also looks at where men receive some of their own learning about what they think Fatherhood is. The expectations society and they place on themselves. With this in mind she also discusses what impact fathers, fathers can have on how they interact and bond with their own children particularly if the child involved experienced a negative experience or memory of their father. How to break the cycle.
