Sonja Shaw is the president of Chino Valley Unified School District board of education. She helped Chino Valley to become the first district in the state to adopt a parental notification policy. It requires district staff to inform parents within three days if they become aware of a student asking to go by names or pronouns or to use bathrooms that do not match their biological sex.
Several more districts, including Murrieta Valley Unified and Temecula Valley Unified in Riverside County, Orange Unified in Orange County and Rocklin Unified in Placer County quickly followed suit.
Sonja started receiving death threats right after. She faces opposition from mainstream media, Sacramento and even some parents.
Sonja is a Godly woman, a mom to two teenage girls and a wife. She is currently in a midst of her biggest battle to date.
We sit down with Sonja Shaw to discuss what did she exactly do to piss off so many people to even get multiple death threats. How did Sonja get involved into politics and what is her goal for staying there.
