When I started this podcast in 2022, I wanted a space that was free of most restrictions in the way of content - I didn't want to "niche" myself too tight into a specific category. Yet, through my research I found most podcasts were 'niched' down to a certain subject or two, not many had a free form structure like I was looking for, so I struggled with mine.
In phase one I called my podcast "Let's Haver" - Haver meaning to babble on (an Scottish (maybe Irish too) and Newfoundlander term), but that didn't feel quite right.
In phase two I called my podcast "From Cape Breton: It's Saturday Night!" and that one felt a little better, meaning I felt it was going in the direction I was meaning for my brand and my podcast. But, as time went on I realized that it still wasn't right. I still wasn't being as true to my voice as I really wanted to be. I am most passionate about helping people, about telling stories and offering my perspective and insight (asked for or NOT - most likely NOT).
So, in this third attempt to re-brand myself - and my podcast I am renaming yet again to "Bartender on Wheels". You may find yourself asking - wtf??? and I get it, I know, I am just as messy as this seems....BUT..... bare with me through all these growing pains.
The Bartender on Wheels name comes from a time when I was a tour operator here in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I often would hear all about the lives of the guests I had in my vehicle. I would here their successes, their sorrows, their venting and then at times, they would ask my advice on topics or my opinion on others. That is when I would coin myself a 'Bartender on Wheels' - I truly heard many confessions and stories like a bartender would at a local pub.
So, that said.....are we ready for this new chapter, this new me, and are you ready to tell me all about your successes, your sorrows, vent about anything, ask me advice or ask my opinion on a topic. I am all ears. And, until the requests start rolling in, I am going to start you off with a few episodes that are off the cuff.
The older stuff will always be here for your entertainment (and mine LOL). And I am keeping the email the same - no use changing it until I know for sure if this is it or if I am doomed to make another change still.
