Juan is black belt under Ricardo De La Riva, who is also a contemporary of Ricardo Liborio, both of whom were awarded black belts under Carlson Gracie. Juan recounts some chapters from his life and early combat sports history in Florida. Juan has been a fighter, grappler, ref, and promoter throughout his life and has a livelong love of jiu-jitsu. He's also one of the most entertaining and loyal characters you'll come across.
