"You could smell them....but you just couldn't catch them....!"
The words of one lady competitor today after this amazing event held at earlier on Killyleagh's little piece of Strangford Lough.
Well over 100 competitors converged on the Quay and Netwalk area at Killyleagh to take part in the regatta. The first race started at 10.00am, with the final race at 2.30pm. Competitors and spectators were blessed with glorious weather and almost perfect conditions for their row. The sun beamed down on teams from Ardglass, Donaghadee, Dundrum, Killyleagh, Portavogie, Sketrick and Strangford as they competed against each other across the different races.
In this week's programme Chris chats to some of the competitors from Killyleagh across the age groups, some of the background staff, team members from the Strangford, Dundrum and Portavogie clubs, and Stephen Robinson from Killyleagh, who assisted in building their first Skiffy many years ago!
