Apothecary Lucy Peterson is on the brink of financial ruin. A rival apothecary stole the formula for a throat lozenge and is passing it off as his own invention and she believes he stole another formula that has gone missing. So she hires Jonathan Thorne under the guise of being her store’s bookkeeper in order to find the culprit. But in the meantime, these two are quite drawn to each other.
