She was Full of Good Works

Christians. Sisters. Best Friends.
Oh, to be remembered like Tabitha a woman in the book of Acts. Those who knew her, not only mourned the loss of her, but the loss of all she did for everyone. If we could only be remembered that way, what a great compliment that would be! “She was full of good works and acts of charity”. She was a disciple of Jesus and in our lives here on earth, there is nothing more important than that! Whether we have to completely change our schedule or even not go to things like church board meetings to be in the ministry of others, we need to do it. God has called us to serve one another! No matter what our gifts and talents are, serving God is to love. When a scribe said to Jesus he wanted to follow him wherever he went, another disciple said first let me go bury my father. Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead”. Wow! Nothing should get in the way of us following Jesus! Nothing! Not even burying our fathers!
Matthew 8:19-22 CSB
“A scribe approached him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus told him, “Foxes have dens, and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” “Lord,” another of his disciples said, “first let me go bury my father.” But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.””
Romans 12:4-8 CSB
“Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another. According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one’s faith; if service, use it in service; if teaching, in teaching; if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.”
Acts 9:36-42 ESV
“Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity. In those days she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Please come to us without delay.” So Peter rose and went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them. But Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. And he gave her his hand and raised her up. Then, calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive. And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.”
