Kristin Smart desapareceu depois de ir a uma festa em 1996 e seu caso ficou sem atividade por mais de 20 anos, quando um podcast investigativo chamado "Your Own Backyard" traz à tona o caso de Kristin para o interesse do público. Além de chamar atenção para o caso novamente, o host do podcast, Chris Lambert, consegui investigar e trazer justiça para a família de Kristin Smart depois de 25 anos.
