俄罗斯雇佣兵瓦格纳集团的首领叶夫根尼·普里戈任，2023年6月23日星期五突然倒戈, 宣布要推翻俄罗斯军事领导层。普京隔天发表全国电视讲话，指责这是“叛国”，是在俄罗斯国家和人民的背后捅刀子。

正当俄罗斯兵变的新闻让举世震惊之际，普里戈任和他的部队星期六晚上就撤离他们所占领的俄罗斯南部罗斯托夫市的军事总部，兵变在24小时后匆匆落幕，戛然而止。

On Friday, June 23, Yevgeny Prigozhin, leader of the private military company Wagner Group, led an armed mutiny and announced his intention to overthrow the Russian military leadership.

As Wagner mercenary forces marched towards Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a televised address to the nation, accused Prigozhin of “treason” and described the uprising as “a stab in the back” of the Russian troops and people.

A last-minute deal with Belarus defused the crisis. In a span of 36 hours, Putin faced the biggest challenge to his authority since he came to power.
