Content Proposal

Branding:

  • Graphics and branding. Talk about color selection, logo design and show art. Show some basic Canva skills. Emphasize that this is the last step before getting into a studio to record. Also get shared folders set up. Teacher first must create a main class folder in Google Drive with Edit access. Then, students make a subfolder for their podcast. The folder is titled with their podcast show name Within that, they must also create subfolders for each of their episodes, called Episode 1, Episode 2, etc. Make them show folders before they move on.

Choosing Your Music:

Episode 0:

  • Plan episode 0. Talk about episode 0 and give tips on what to say in it. This is essentially a scripted episode that gets students used to being in front of the mics.

Editing: Editing in Audacity. Give a tutorial on how to do everything for their episode 0 editing.

Shownotes:

  • show notes template. Post this template in an easily available digital space so students can get a new copy for each new episode. Show that a complete episode folder needs 3 things: complete show notes, edited audio .mp3, and show art in .png. Wrap up editing and double check everyone’s folder is complete for episode 0. Start planning episode 1 when done. The posted assignment looks like this:
