I've had lots of people asking what they were building out on Highway 81 in the median. Here's your answer!

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) announced lane closures on U.S. Hwy 81 from West Poplar Avenue to State Highway 45, allowing contractors to complete a rehabilitation of the pavement, consisting of concrete panel repairs, diamond grinding, dowel retrofitting, and grading improvements.

This closure is expected to last approximately six months, beginning Wednesday, May 1.

In preparation for the closure, ODOT is building a temporary concrete mix plant in the median for the project. Traffic control signs will be placed up on the highway in mid-April in anticipation of the highway and street closure.

The Cimarron Council Boy Scouts of America Car Show will be Saturday, April 13 from 10:30am-3:00pm at the Garfield County Fairgrounds, 111 W Purdue. Free admission (Donations accepted).
