He is a pioneer in the field of artificial retina and vision restorative therapies such as optogenetics. His trailblazing work in the field, especially with retinal and subretinal implants, has had a tremendous impact on patients' lives, restoring usable vision to the blind. And recently his work with optogenetics got published in Nature Medicine, which is one of the highest impact factor journals in all of medicine.

Dr. Ranya Habash is the Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, CEO of LifeLong Vision, and Medical Director of Technology Innovation.
