Donald Trump and his Republican allies have been attacking the federal response to Hurricane Helene, but the people who served in Trump's administration are reminding him of how horrible he was when disasters struck on his watch. According to these former staffers, Trump actually tried to deny disaster assistance to blue states like California, and the aides had to show him maps of conservative voters in those areas to get him to help. This is absolutely unforgivable.
Also, the Trump campaign handed out banners and signs during Trump's recent rally in Saginaw, Michigan that contained a slogan that has been used for decades by White Supremacist groups. The slogan was "Reclaim America", and it is rooted in the white nationalist belief that they need to take the country back from people of color. The campaign has actually done this before, and in spite of the warnings about what the slogan means, they continue to do it.
And during his recent rally in Michigan, Donald Trump went off the rails when his teleprompter quit working in the middle of his rally. In spite of claiming that he didn't need one, he then went off on a tangent about all of the other times that his prompter quit working before segueing into an attack on Kamala Harris. The whole thing was just proof that the man can't function without being told what to say.
Finally, 'awyers for Donald Trump didn't waste any time telling Judge Tanya Chutkan that some, if not all, of the charges against him need to be dropped following the release of the new evidence that Jack Smith recently submitted. His lawyers are claiming that multiple Supreme Court cases prove the need for dismissal, but they ignore the fact that the immunity ruling specifically put it in Judge Chutkan's hands to make that determination. They are getting desperate after Smith nailed them.
