Growing up, playing a sport and reading books was all Anupama wanted to do. While the latter was easily achievable, the idea wasn’t particularly well-received by her parents.
Fast-forward to now, Anupama is India’s 1st Certified Female Calisthenics Coach, and surfs, plays football and volleyball. Her hunger for reading led her to work as a Lifestyle & Food Journalist with media houses like The Times Group, Tholasi Publications and more. But this was not before she graduated as a Computer Science Engineer and made the daunting career switch.
It takes self-love and self-belief to put yourself first, give yourself a chance to pursue the interests that you always wanted to, especially when your family had different views, and especially in a country where traditionally, sports has been a not so popular career choice!

As India's First Certified Female Calisthenics Coach, she is passionate about helping people change lifestyles for better. She has been able to guide her clients in building healthier habits, living an injury and pain-free life with calisthenics and bodyweight training. Crafting customised workouts with careful assessment and nutritional guidance has helped them unlock calisthenics skills like headstands, push-ups, pull-ups and much more.
Fitness aside, food and lifestyle are her other areas of interest and her expertise lies in bringing experiences to paper and make the reader live it. Anupama likes to keep her content engaging, fun and lighthearted. A background of working in print and digital media houses has helped her build ways to reach out to every kind of reader and engage them online.
On weekends, you'll find Anupama in the Western Ghats leading treks for Bangalore-based trekking group - Monks On Wheels, surfing in Mangalore or reading and indulging in audiobooks.
