Have you ever considered taking your employees on a mission trip?

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, and Peter discuss:

  • The history of HOPE International.
  • Taking employees and family members on mission and vision trips.
  • Being generous in experience not just finances.
  • Getting the most out of your international travel experiences.

Key Takeaways:

  • Bringing your team into your mission will bring greater engagement and job satisfaction.
  • With a greater perspective, the stresses and challenges of your life will seem much less important and difficult than before your mission trip.
  • Important work needs to happen before and after the trip, not just during the trip.
  • There are more similarities than differences between the people of the world. We are all neighbors, whether across the street or across the world.

"Just try it! See what happens. Tell me if there is not more joy, more life, more meaning when you come back. We are designed by our Creator for meaning and purpose. A life that is lived inwardly is not a life that is lived to the fullest." — Peter Greer

About Peter Greer: Peter Greer is President and CEO of HOPE International, a global Christ-centered nonprofit that equips underserved communities with tools, including microfinance and savings groups, to break the cycle of poverty. Peter’s favorite part of his job is spending time with the entrepreneurs HOPE serves—whether harvesting coffee with farmers in Rwanda, dancing alongside savings groups in Haiti, or visiting greenhouses in Ukraine.

Prior to joining HOPE International, Peter worked as a microfinance adviser in Cambodia and Zimbabwe and as managing director of a Rwandan community bank in Rwanda. He received his B.S. in International Business from Messiah University and an MPP in political and economic development from Harvard's Kennedy School. Peter has coauthored 15 books, including Lead with Prayer, Mission Drift, Rooting for Rivals, and Created to Flourish.

More important than his role at HOPE is his role as husband to Laurel and dad to Keith, Liliana, Myles, and London. While his sports loyalties remain in New England, Peter and his family live in Lancaster, PA.
