BWX Technologies ($BWXT) Led-JV Awarded $30 Billion Operating Contract for Pantex Nuclear Plant

BWX Technologies (NYSE: BWXT), a provider of safe and effective nuclear solutions, has announced a contract award from the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration for managing and operating the Pantex Plant, located in Texas. The initial contract term is five years, with three additional five-year options, potentially totaling 20 years and approximately $30 billion.

Pantex is crucial to the nation’s Nuclear Security Enterprise, ensuring the safety, security, and effectiveness of the nuclear weapons stockpile. It supports nuclear weapons life extension programs, surveillance, assembly, dismantlement, high explosive components development, and plutonium pit storage and surveillance.
