Kamala Harris’s campaign fell into real danger last week.

Yes, some polls show her even with Trump. Yes, legacy media bias from “60 Minutes” and Univision was impossible to ignore. Yes, she gave wholly inadequate answers on the friendly chat shows where she appeared.

But what really threatened Kamala Harris’s campaign last week is that it looked ridiculous. Americans of all political stripes laughed at her cringeworthy commercial trying desperately to appeal to men with lines like “I eat carburetors for breakfast.”

Everyone saw through Tim Walz “hunting” without a gun, and then trying pitifully to look like he knew how to load one. Now even “Saturday Night Live” is mocking Kamala’s word salad answers … and none too kindly.

Campaigns can survive looking sinister or even corrupt. But looking ridiculous signals incompetence. Americans are right to shun a leader whom everyone is laughing at.
