Manage episode 354894659 series 2551970
Adelaide 36ers Hall of Famer Scott Ninnis has selected his Round 18 #TheGalen winner and selected his two nominees for #NBL23 Best Team Man thanks to Sports Card World and we discuss all that and plenty more on bonus episode of Hoops Heaven's Basketball Hustle.
We catch up with Adelaide 36ers Hall of Famer and the only man involved with every NBL championship of the Sixers Scott Ninnis this week and we begin by looking back on the dramatic and frenetic finish to the NBL23 season.
That ended up seeing the Adelaide 36ers not making the finals for a fifth straight season and Scott gives his thoughts on what went wrong for the Sixers in #NBL23, what positives they can take, what the outlook looks like and even what the future might hold for seven-time club MVP Daniel Johnson.
We then move onto the #TheGalen Best NBL Team Man Award thanks to Sports Card World. We begin with Scott Ninnis name Luke Travers of the Perth Wildcats as the winner of the award for Round 18 of the NBL season.
Scott then selects Xavier Cooks of Sydney Kings and Antonius Cleveland of Adelaide 36ers as his two nominees for the winner of The Galen Best NBL Team Man for #NBL23 to be decided by our listeners and with a prize to be awarded thanks to Sports Card World.
Before wrapping up this bonus show, we get Scott's thoughts and predictions for the finals beginning with the play-in tournament starting on Thursday night with the South East Melbourne Phoenix against the Perth Wildcats, and Cairns Taipans hosting the Tasmania JackJumpers.
Scott Ninnis also talks about Mike McKay being inducted into the Adelaide 36ers Hall of Fame and reflects on that same honour being bestowed on him last year and what it meant to him.
All made possible thanks to the support of Hoops Heaven (www.hoopsheaven.com.au).
