After the Nene derby games, the fixture against Birmingham City at St Andrews was probably the most anticipated game for Cobblers fans this season. The two sides haven’t met for a quarter of a century, so the opportunity for many to tick a new stadium off their list, plus the big matchday atmosphere has drawn us in.

Of course, Birmingham have led the way in League One for most of the season (although currently sitting 2nd due to Wycombe having played an extra game in midweek) so we’re under no illusions that this will be one of the toughest challenges The Cobblers will face this season.

To help us preview the game, we’re joined by Sam Sheppy from The Blues Focus. Sam takes us through Birmingham’s struggles in the past few years, the excitement of their takeover by a group of Americans which includes NFL superstar, Tom Brady, and gives us an idea of how The Cobblers could frustrate the Champions Elect.
