This relic was originally displayed at the Elvis Presley Museum, later being given to Jimmy Velvet. Jimmy Velvet was once described as “The Godfather of memorabilia” by Rolling Stone Magazine. Jimmy Velvet even described the Elvis Lion Claw as the most Iconic piece of Elvis Presley Jewelry ever worn by Elvis Presley.
The amount of pictures that Elvis can be seen wearing this necklace is mind boggling, he wore it throughout his daily life, on and off stage. Elvis can be seen wearing the necklace on Lisa Marie’s Birthday, with Linda Thompson, most importantly he can be seen wearing the necklace when he met Muhammad Ali both times! Debatably the most iconic photograph ever of Elvis Presley, he can be seen wearing this exact Lion Claw Necklace. He wore the necklace many times in concerts, with over 30 shows Elvis can be seen wearing this necklace.
The provenance for this item is also impeccable, The Claw comes with the provenance of the person who custom made the Claw for Elvis with diamonds and rubies. Also, with the official authentication from the Elvis Presley Museum, home of the Claw for many years. Provenance also from Jimmy Velvet – Founder and Daniel Johnson – President and CEO of Elvis Presley Museum.
