A woman who died after a vaccine had "unusual symptoms" .
Danish had a blood clot after receiving the dose, but symptoms were "highly" unusual, according to the agency.
A 60-year-old Danish woman who died of a blood clot after receiving AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine, had "highly unusual" symptoms. according to the Danish Medicines Agency.
She exhibited a low number of blood platelets and clots in small and large blood vessels, as well as bleeding, the agency said.
Some similar cases have been seen in Norway and in the European Medicines Agency (EMA) database of drug side effects, said the Danish Medicines Agency.
"It was an unusual development of illness around death that caused the Danish Medicines Agency to react," the agency said in a statement late on Sunday.
On Saturday, Norway said that three people under 50 who received the AstraZeneca vaccine were being treated in hospitals for bleeding, blood clots and a low platelet count, which health officials have classified as "unusual symptoms" .
Last week, Denmark, Norway and Iceland said they would stop using the AstraZeneca vaccine.
In the past two weeks, European vaccination programs have been shaken by reports that people who received the AstraZeneca inoculation had blood clots.
