On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) breaks down the Panthers 6-5 win over the Edmonton Oilers in their first meeting since Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final Rematch. The Panthers set the tone early with their special teams getting two goals in the first period, including Jesper Boqvist's first short-handed goal of his career. Now the Panthers have eight on the season. Florida had a bit of adversity in the second giving up three goals in 3:04, which two of the goals against were a bit head scratching. Panthers got the game within one toward the end of the second period, and one big check by Jonah Gadjovich in the in the neutral zone changed the momentum of the hockey game, where the Panthers scored twice in a 30-second span, including an incredible sharp angle shot by Sam Reinhart for his 20th goal of the season. Although Edmonton tied it shortly after, Mr. Clutch Carter Verhaeghe came through just past the midway point of the third period and the Panthers were able to shut down the game from there. The Panthers responded once again after getting shutout in their previous two games, and now are 2-2-0 on their current road trip. This was the Panthers' first win this season when trailing going into the third period, and what timing for it to come in their Stanley Cup Final Rematch. We give out three stars of the game, the moment where we knew the game was won, and give some praise to the Panthers fourth line, who moved the needle on Monday night with their physical play.
