In this week’s episode, “A Very Special Episode” Pan and Beth have a long, serious discussion about episodes 1.15 and 1.16, “Wentworth Prison” and “To Ransom a Man’s Soul.” The tone of this week’s episode is very different from the rest of the season. Rather than our usual shenanigans, we take a critical approach to how sexual violence is used and portrayed in the series, focusing on the issues that come up in these two episodes and the real-world affect media can have on an audience.
Out of respect for the subject matter and tone, there is no Lord John and no fic rec this week. We’ll be back to the shenanigans next week with our season 1 finale.
