Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. Back in the studio, Mae is joined by Urdu-Blues music composer, performer, and writer Sameer Rahat! He talks about his relationship with poetry and music, coming from a family of poets, how classical ghazals and traditional blues came together in his music, how Urdu as a language is dying a gradual death, and on his experience being a music composer for film and TV. He also performs a stripped down version of a song from his 2020 debut solo-album Aamad, and two unreleased songs!
