1: The Tulsa Race Massacre
Manage episode 451477369 series 3617869
For most of America the topic of this week’s episode has become a distant memory and a forgotten piece of history. But after the death of George Floyd in 2020 the riots, protests and uprisings along with the new pop culture entertainment we now have has brought this event back into the minds of everyone that knows it and begs the question of how much has our world really changed?
This week Carrie tells the devastating story of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. A story of hate, destruction, violence and the century long battle for black independence. This horrific part of American history will make you question how much of what you’ve been told is actually true.
