This podcast episode discusses the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. We talk about how the film felt like a chapter in a longer story and how the villain, Kang the Conqueror, was not well-developed. We also discuss how the movie had a different emotional impact than other MCU movies.
We agreed that the movie was not our favorite but we still enjoyed it. The MCU is a great franchise, but we hope that future films will start taking risks and telling more nuanced stories.
Here are some of the key points we discussed:
The villain, Kang the Conqueror, needed to be well-developed. We needed to understand his motivations and why he was so evil.
The movie did not have the same emotional impact as other MCU movies. We did not care about the characters as much.
Overall, we enjoyed the movie, but we did not think it was our favorite. We hope that the MCU will start to take more risks and tell more nuanced stories in the future.
