DUBAAKO: Akan Abosom (Deities) of the 7-Day Week - From Khanit (Nubia) to Hoodoo

In this broadcast we examine the nature of the AKRADINBOSOM DUBAAKO, the Eleven Abosom (Deities) governing all natural cycles in Creation and their perservation in HOODOO - Akan Ancestral Religion in North America. DUBAAKO means 'Eleven' in Akan. The Akan term for Deities/Goddesses and Gods is Abosom. The unique grouping of Abosom called the AKRADINBOSOM (Akradin Abosom) is the group of eleven Abosom who animate the solar, lunar and planetary bodies which govern the seven-day week. The akradin or 'Soul-names' of Akan people, based upon the day of the week we are born, are derived from the Akradinbosom. The day of the week we are born indicates which of the Abosom was assigned to govern our Okra/Okraa (Soul - Divinity in the Head). The akradin or 'Soul-names' include: Kwesi, Akosua, Kwadwo, Adwoa, Kwabena, Abenaa, Kweku, Akua, Yaw, Yaa, Aaba, Kofi, Afua, Kwame and Amma (with many variations). The eleven Akradinbosom also govern the eleven major body systems of the Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit (African) human and also the Body of Asaase (Earth). These eleven Deities are found in the language and culture of ancient Khanit and Kamit (Nubia and Egypt) by the same names as in Akan language and culture - as we are the same people. Moreover, these same Deities manifest as Orisha in Yoruba tradition and Vodou in Ewe tradition. The Akradinbosom are central to all ritual practice as they govern the Okra/Okraa (Soul) of the Akan individual. This reality has been preserved in Hoodoo which is Akan Ancestral Religion in North America.
