“When you have walked in the shoes of other people, empathy comes much easier.”
Can you learn to be more empathetic?
There’s no better person to garner an informed opinion from about this question than Dr. Helen Riess, founder and CEO of Empathetics, Inc., a company that provides empathy training to hospitals and doctors.
And her answer is yes.
Dr. Riess and I discuss why empathy is important in leadership and how you can learn to develop more empathy.
Since empathy is a critical skill for leaders, we discuss what it is and the systematic training people can experience that will help them learn to use their empathy muscle more readily and frequently.
In this episode:

  • What is empathy?
  • The role of empathy in leadership
  • Learning empathy as a skill
  • Practical things to do to become a more empathetic leader
  • And more!
